Payment transmission
ACH Finland Ltd is a payment institute, which transfers its customer banks payments to the receivers' banks. Payments from other banks are received and forwarded to the customer banks to be registered on the receivers' accounts. Before the payment registration to the payee's account, settlement between banks is completed.
Payment transaction collecting
Payment transactions are received from different channels such as the internet bank, offices and different points of sales terminals. Among payments are invoices payments paid by bank customers, perdiodic payments such as salaries paid by companies and pensions.
The payment transations are grouped to payment files, which are transferred to a common European clearing and settlement platform.
Settlement
Settlement is a distinguished part of the payments processing. Settlement is the final registration of the payables and receivables of the parties on a central bank level. Subsequent to a successful settlement payments can be booked on the payees' accounts. ACHF provides services for its customer banks to assess needed settlement liquidity.
Reporting
ACH Finland keeps statistics on payments processed by the payment institution. Additionally ACHF provides tools for monitoring the settlement liquidity.
ACHF reports processed payment transactions to the Financial Supervisory Authority and the Bank of Finland.
SEPA End Date
As of 1. November only SEPA Credit Transfers will be transferred between banks in Finland. Banks will only process payments registered with the receiver bank's BIC code and the beneficiary's IBAN account number.
